SoCal Punk Invasion

1. Are you a Beatles or Elvis man?

2. Are you a fan of West Coast or East Coast Rap?

3. Southern California punk or New York punk?

Most people have answers for the first two questions, but to have an answer for the third shows a depth of knowledge about popular culture and music that most cannot muster. Either way, the emergence of the punk scene in any city caused a major upset to the status quo. It's something that I love to talk about, and if you need more info on the subject I can suggest all kinds media surrounding the topic (seriously, email me at bodie.matt@gmail.com, I WILL talk your ear off on this).

Otherwise I would suggest showing up to Howlin Wolf on Wednesday, August 12 and see a virtual cross section of the entire Southern California punk movement from its founders to current scene leaders.

The highlight of the evening, of course, will be one of the scene's founding members (and probably its rudest) Fear. This band loved to piss people off. If a show went on from start to finish without inciting a riot.... well, it sucked. The band's founder (and the only original member in its current lineup) Lee Ving would taunt and tease the crowd at every opportunity. Most shows, it's amazing that they escaped with thier lives.

If you don't believe me, see for yourself:

This is something you cannot miss!!!! Best be here on Wednesday or they will come and find you!!!
